Joy Lai: U17 National Champion

Hi all NEWS FROM OUR PLAYERS From under 17 June Bevan carnival and Australasian individual championship (April during Easter break) We would like to congratulate Joy Lai on winning 2 individual titles (singles and doubles partner with Grace Ngiam from Queensland) at the under 17 championships. Well done to all our players who played well and represented the VIC State teams at the June Bevan carnival: Joy Lai, Adriana Phan, Teresa Chan, Clara Chen, Samantha Lee, Andre Zopf and Eric Qi.

From BV under 15 and under 19 mandatory junior comp at MSAC Congratulations to Athi Selladurai on winning 2 titles (in singles and doubles partner with Eric Vuong from WSBA) and to Arthavan Srithar as boys doubles runners up at the under 19 mandatory events at MSAC.

Congratulations to Samantha Lee/Irene Chau on winning the girls doubles under 15. Samatha was the runners up in girls singles. Well done to all our players who played and performed well in the tournament. After the completion of the under 19 mandatory, the VIC State teams for under 19 has been announced. Again, well done and congratulations for our players on making into the team: Athi Selladurai, Arthavan Srithar, Joy Lai, Gronya Somerville (BAV/Jump Smash).

The team will compete in Hobart in July.

From Oceania Junior championship and individual events Australian team won the Oceania Junior Championship in Tahiti, well done AUS. And in the individual events, again congratulations to Joy Lai on winning 2 titles in singles and mixed partner with Anthony Joe from Canberra. Well done for Joy's achievements, and hope many more to come. Open & Senior news Our player, Ashwant Gobinathan, won the mens singles at Geelong Open last week. Congratulations to Ashwant. Ashwant is also selected to represent AUS Senior Team at the 2013 Sudirman Cup, after winning at the Badminton AUS trials a few week ago. The team events is going to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 16-26 May 2013.

We wish all the best for Ashwant's preparation. Those are all the news from our players, congratulations and well done to everyone (including those are not in the lists): BAV and coaches are very proud of our players achievements in any level.
